Catholic Schools were built by Catholics to promote the Catholic Faith and are therefore owned by the Diocese, not the Local Education Authority.
Each school has a Governing Body with various groups, one of which consists of Foundation Governors who represent Catholic principles. The buildings are maintained by the Governing Body and the Diocese. Governors work hard to ensure that St. Mary’s is a 21st Century School with a building that is maintained to a high standard.
Each Catholic School has it’s own Admission’s Criteria which outlines which categories of children are given priority in the event of over subscription to the school.
